Simplifying Bundled-Product Purchasing for a Fortune 500 Company

Leading the frontend delivery and launch of a Bundle SKU feature for a Fortune 500 technology company's B2B commerce platform.

Sprint Champion Reported 75% experience improvement

Recognition: Sprint Champion

Reported impact: 75% improvement in the bundled-product purchasing experience.

Certain company, product, and implementation details have been generalised to respect confidentiality.

Context

The company was modernising its B2B commerce storefront by transitioning from a legacy Oracle Commerce Cloud implementation to the React-based Oracle Storefront Framework.

The platform supported complex product and purchasing workflows, requiring new features to work carefully with established commerce services, business rules, and enterprise delivery processes.

The challenge

Some products were sold as bundles containing multiple related components. The existing experience required customers to manage those components individually, creating unnecessary friction in the purchasing workflow.

The goal was to introduce a clearer bundle experience that helped customers understand and purchase the required components as one coordinated product selection.

My role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, I took ownership of the frontend delivery and launch of the Bundle SKU feature.

My contribution included:

  • Translating bundled-product requirements into the storefront experience
  • Implementing the feature within the React-based Oracle Storefront Framework
  • Integrating the experience with established Oracle Commerce Cloud services
  • Resolving technical issues encountered during implementation and release
  • Supporting code quality and delivery readiness
  • Driving the feature through to launch

Technical approach

The implementation introduced bundle-aware behaviour within the storefront while continuing to work with the company’s established commerce platform.

The frontend coordinated the presentation and selection of related products, supported validation of the customer’s configuration, and integrated the result with the existing purchasing workflow.

The solution was designed to fit the conventions and constraints of the existing storefront rather than introducing an isolated or incompatible experience.

Constraints

The feature was delivered within an established enterprise commerce system. This required balancing the new customer experience with the existing platform architecture, established commerce services and business rules, compatibility with the wider storefront, enterprise release and quality requirements, and long-term maintainability.

Outcome

The Bundle SKU feature was successfully launched and improved the purchasing experience for bundled B2B products.

The project received a reported 75% improvement in the bundled-product purchasing experience and earned me the Sprint Champion award for ownership and delivery excellence.

What this work demonstrates

This project reflects my ability to take ownership of a business-critical feature in a complex enterprise environment — from understanding the product requirement and navigating platform constraints to implementation, issue resolution, and successful delivery.
